ORBITAL TIG WELDING
Specialising in high-precision orbital TIG welding for stainless steel, high-nickel alloys, and specialist metals, we provide tailored welding solutions across industries including semiconductor, pharmaceutical, aerospace, automotive, and research. Our orbital welding services ensure repeatable, consistent results with fully penetrated welds, ideal for high-purity applications in the semiconductor and biopharm sectors.
We offer orbital TIG welding with enclosed heads, capable of welding from 1/16″ to 6″, as well as turntable welding up to 10″. Our expert technicians work with materials ranging from 0.1 mm to 3 mm in wall thickness, delivering high-integrity welds that meet the most stringent standards. Whether for on-site projects or in our workshop, our portable, compact welding equipment provides flexibility and precision, even in restricted areas.

Manual TIG welding
Manual welding combines controllability of the orbital welding power sources with the dexterity of our highly skilled hand welders
Leveraging our expertise in stainless steel hand TIG welding, we combine the precision of orbital welding power sources with the dexterity and skill of our experienced hand welders. This hybrid approach allows us to achieve superior weld quality, offering clean, precise seams on a wide range of fabrications—from delicate micro TIG assemblies, such as fine gauge bellows, to larger components like 6″ bore valve stubs. Our process ensures both the aesthetic excellence and structural integrity required for critical applications across various industries.
- Fabrication of manifolds, vacuum chambers and vessels supporting both in-house and on-site installations
- Teams of highly skilled and qualified welders working to BS and ASME standards
- Compliant with industry specific standards such as semiconductor, nuclear, pharmaceutical etc
Turntable TIG Welding
Turntable TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) Welding is an advanced, highly precise method for welding rotary components. By positioning parts either vertically or horizontally, this technique achieves exceptional weld quality with accuracy and consistency.
Key Benefits:
Precision and Efficiency: This welding method offers controlled characteristics, producing consistent, repeatable results—perfect for tube sections, fittings, flanges, connectors, and valves.
Expertise: With over 30 years of experience in TIG and orbital welding, our skilled engineers are experts in stainless steel hand TIG welding, ensuring superior craftsmanship on every project.
Our services surrounding Turntable TIG Welding include:
- Precision rotary welding of annular components
- High-quality welds in both vertical and horizontal positions
- High-quality welds in both vertical and horizontal positions
Our engineering know-how and advanced manufacturing capabilities allows us to meet the ever-changing demands of the sectors we supply. Whether it’s a full turnkey project solution or a one-off fabrication Orbital can assist

Lathe TIG Welding
Lathe TIG welding pairs the accuracy of a lathe with the clean control of TIG to deliver consistent, high-grade welds on machined parts, tubes and fittings. Our computer-driven system uses a programmable PC controller with optional data capture for full process oversight. An integrated wire feed lets us tackle thicker walls with multi-run welds. The result is precise, repeatable welds across simple or complex circumferential and longitudinal profiles, ideal for stainless steel components.
Our Lathe TIG welding set-up includes:
- CNC automatic suppressor welding lathe
- Programmable PC-controlled unit
- Integrated or external data acquisition
- High quality, repeatable weld platform
- Perfect for machined components, tubes and fittings

Pipe Spool Fabrication
Orbital produces site-ready spool assemblies using expert TIG welding on stainless steel and high-nickel alloys. We build spools up to 6 metres long, 4 inches in diameter and 2.5 mm wall thickness.
Our in-house CNC machine shop lets us make and modify fittings fast, keeping lead times short.
All welds are argon purged and TIG cleaned for a high-quality finish. Each spool is leak tested, with options from pressure drop checks to helium testing, plus NDT when needed. Final spools arrive fully tested and certified, including 3.1 material certification on request.
Fully equipped in-house machine shop, complete with CNC lathes and multi-axis mills
Enables manufacturing of components, flanges and parts to support in-house and site activities and retains control and management for higher customer service levels, and speed of response.
Our machine shop, with a floor area of over 2800 square feet, is manned by highly trained staff with many years of experience developed in a number of different industries.
High purity gas control equipment
Orbital provides high purity gas control equipment designed for safe and reliable gas delivery. Our Valve Manifold Boxes (VMBs) and Valve Manifold Panels (VMPs) support critical applications in semiconductor, pharmaceutical and research environments.
VMBs allow safe distribution or mixing of gases with isolation for maintenance or emergency shut off. VMPs regulate inert process gases and deliver stable pressures and flow rates across a facility.
Our engineering team offers complete support using Solidworks to develop and refine your gas delivery system. Services include design to your P and ID, 3D modelling, feasibility studies and optimisation of existing systems.
