HRH Prince William tours Newport’s new semiconductor facility

It’s not often we get a chance to say this so we’re going to make the most of it: “HRH the Prince of Wales is pictured alongside an Orbital Valve Manifold Box, during a tour of a newly opened semiconductor manufacturing facility in Newport, South Wales.”

The prince was in Wales at the beginning of December attending an investment summit and took the opportunity to tour this new flagship facility – which also happens to be a key gas delivery system project for Orbital. His Royal Highness was shown the site’s manufacturing area, R&D cleanroom and the sub-FAB infrastructure that supports it. Prince William also met representatives from KLA’s local supply chain and spoke with apprentices and graduates about their training and experience at the company.
