Semiconductor

The performance of semiconductors and micro-electronics can be impaired by the ingress of contamination during their manufacture. The gases used by semiconductor process tools can be toxic, flammable or pyrophoric, so containment is key.

Pharmaceutical

Manufacture of pharmaceutical products that we apply, ingest or inject inherently has to take place in the cleanest conditions and where gases or liquids are required they too must be delivered at the highest purity levels. Contamination can impact the effectiveness of pharmaceuticals, or worse, be a safety issue for the patient. Active pharmaceutical ingredients can be highly potent or toxic for operators, so exposure during production or transfer must be avoided.

Clean Energy

We are in the midst of clean energy revolution and hydrogen in particular is seen as having great potential to replace fossil fuels as the means of propulsion for cars and other forms of transport. Hydrogen is the smallest molecule and, under certain conditions, explosive, so avoiding contact with the atmosphere during the manufacture of hydrogen fuel is essential for safety.
